ChemNet name

the chemnet name is short and catchy. However I just discovered that it is copyrighted by Orica.
Chem-D-net?
Chem-A-net? (A=academic)

Hmm. Originally I didn't want to have any abbreviations (ie call it Chemistry Discipline Network) but when we couldn't get the url chemistry.edu.au (which I really really wanted!) I compromised with chemnet.edu.au  . I figured there was a chemnet out there because we couldn't get the twitter handle, it was already registered (hence we are chemnet_au).
Let's wait and see if they complain!
Ian McMahon is calling us CDN.

We aren't the only ones using the name - the RSC also use it for their high school student membership category.

The "CDN" has a certain ring to it, but isn't exactly descriptive of who we are. Which brings us back to ChemNet!
